Collage Pendants

I am making collage pendant demos for a class we are going to have at Harmony Stained Glass in January.  Etsy is a great source for collage sheets in every theme, shape and size. They run anywhere from $1.99 - $4.50. You buy the sheet and the seller emails you the file which you can print at home or take to the office supply store and have them print it.  I took these sheets to Office Depot and had them printed on cardstock.

Mixed Media Rock

The rock is finished and could become a workshop at Harmony.  I used paper, millifiori, crash glass, paint, and a metal crown.  It's a quick little project and would be really sweet as a Valentine gift.  They already have Valentines up at Michael's.  Let me get my Christmas tree down first, please.

Crash for the Rock

I glued some of my left over crash glass to a dictionary page I painted yellow with MAC glue.  I hope I can use on my rock.  Finished Rock should be up tomorrow. ;)

Crash Rock

I have had these smooth rocks for some time and one of my New Year resolutions is to use up some of my "treasures" that I have been collecting over the past year.  I don't know if a rock should be considered a treasure but I have always wanted to try to do something with garden stones.  Here is step one:  I collaged a paper heart using Golden Matte Medium and then sealed it with MAC Glue.  Next up - I am going to use some of the left over 1/8" crash to border the heart.

Finished Crash Lamp

The crash glass lamp is finished.  Painted dictionary paper and cultered pearls were used to create the cherry blossoms.  The 1/8" crash did not hold together very well; so, it took a long time to get the lamp finished.  I would recommend it for smaller projects but I probaly won't use it again for bigger projects.

Crash Lamp - Glass Going On

I started putting the crash on today with black stained glass for the branches.  I am using 1/8" tempered glass to match the height of the stained glass.  I am also trying MAC glue for the first time with the crash to speed up the process. I turned the lantern after about 30 minutes to start a new side and the glue was dry already.  Pretty cool!

Crash Glass Lamp Progress

Ikea has the best lamps to use for projects.  This one is a square lamp which comes in three different sizes, this being the largest.  I took my cherry blossom paper and attached it to the lamp base using Golden brand soft gel.  I then used the same soft gel to coat the entire project.  This coating with soft gel acts as a buffer between the glue and the paper and will keep the glue from "eating" the color off your base paper.  Next step, adding tempered glass and black stained glass.

Crash Glass Lamp

I bought this Cherry Blossom Paper at Texas Art Supply and I am going to use it to make a crash glass lamp.  Here we go!

Believe Tree

Here is the finished Believe Tree.  I am going to try another one soon, but next up is a crash glass lamp.  I'll keep you posted.
